The Raab Writing Fellows Program in the Writing Program at UC Santa Barbara supports a select group of UCSB undergraduates in year-long projects to further their engagement with writing. The program is funded by a generous gift from UCSB Trustee Diana Raab, PhD. A published author, editor, poet, and inspirational speaker, Diana understands the power of writing to transform and empower individuals.
The program develops the academic, creative, and professional writing of students and helps them build a strong bond and writing network for their activities at UCSB and beyond. By being in the program, students receive
-) one-on-one mentoring with Writing Program faculty
-) an opportunity to collaborate with the cohort of other Raab Writing Fellows in a year-long seminar, Writing 131ABC
-) $750 in support for project needs (e.g., books, travel, software)
The fellows present their work at a final showcase at the end of spring quarter.
